Redwood Technologies is set to recognise the achievements of some of the UK’s most innovative businesses by sponsoring the ‘Best Use of Technology’ category at the 2014 Thames Valley Business Awards. As Europe’s ‘Tech Valley’, the Thames Valley is home to an impressive array of IT businesses, from innovative SMEs, through to large multi-nationals with UK or European headquarters based in the region. Through this sponsorship, Redwood aims to celebrate those businesses that have made telling contributions to the area’s already impressive technology heritage.

Now in their 20th year, the Thames Valley Business Awards acknowledge the region’s best and brightest companies across a wide range of categories, including Charity of the Year, the Green Business Award, and the prestigious Business of the Year Award. Notable past winners at the awards include O2 (UK), Symantec, and leading IT distributor, Westcoast.

The Redwood ‘Best Use of Technology’ award is open to businesses of any size and has been designed to incorporate both the users and developers of technology. The judges will be looking for businesses that demonstrate an innovative approach to the application of technology, improvement in the customer service experience as a result of technology, and reductions in the operational cost and overheads associated with technology systems.

The overall winner of the award will be announced on the 20th November at a gala awards dinner, to be held at the Madejski Stadium in Reading, with presenter Fiona Bruce and guest speaker Nick Hewer. Commenting on the award, Sean Taylor, Managing Director of Redwood said:

“Redwood has been located in ‘Tech Valley’ for over twenty years and the region itself, plus its proximity to London and Heathrow, make it not only a great place to do business but also mean we operate in a highly competitive environment. Winning the Best Use of Technology Award will be a sign of world-class credentials and we’re looking forward to seeing today’s and tomorrow’s technology champions during this competition”
