19 May 2005 – Redwood Technologies, the UK’s leading provider of Value Added Services equipment, is pleased to announce that its latest softswitch platform, the DNX-1200, has been selected for a ‘Product of the Year’ award by Communications Solutions, one of the USA’s leading telecommunications publications.

Rich Tehrani, President of TMC and Group Publisher of Communications Solutions said: “Each year Communications Solutions magazine bestows its Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements. Redwood has demonstrated to the editors of Communications Solutions that its products have gone the extra mile to help improve both the customer experience and the ROI for the companies that use them.”

Launched in 2004, the DNX-1200 softswitching platform has already been selected by some of the world’s most prominent carriers with implementations spanning both SS7 and IP networks. The product has been chosen for the versatility of its architecture, inherent scalability, robustness, ease of maintenance and of course price.

DNX-1200s have been deployed to date for a wide variety of services including converged voice and data applications, wireless subscriber billing, unified communications and mass calling.

Sean Taylor, Redwood’s UK Managing Director said: “The DNX-1200 has been designed based on our company’s extensive experience in the Value Added Services arena. I’m pleased that the product’s innovation has been recognized through this award. Many of Redwood’s first DNX systems, such as the DNX-800 series, are still in the field after over a decade of use. I look forward to being able to say the same for the DNX-1200 in 2015.”
