CEO Sean Taylor commented:

“We were delighted to sponsor this once-in-a-generation event and see the local community come together in celebration of this landmark year. For us, it is a double royal celebration, with one of our Group members having received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in April. To realise this life-long ambition in the Queen’s ninetieth year is particularly special for us.”

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Street Party

Redwood Technologies was among the sponsors of a four-day event celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee that took place in Wokingham in 2012.

A donation from Redwood Technologies helped fund an exhibition of photos of previous royal celebrations in Wokingham, as well as a free-admission lunchtime concert held on the day of the Jubilee.

In keeping with its communications activities, Redwood sponsored the sound system for the Jubilee concert that featured music from all six decades of the Queen’s reign. The concert was preceded by a communal lunch in Wokingham town centre where tables and chairs were set up for over 1,000 people to eat together. The event mirrored hundreds of similar street parties that took place all over the country.

The Redwood Lecture

On Wednesday the 9th of March 2016, the Redwood Technologies Group held its first annual Lecture at the Coppid Beech Hotel in Bracknell. The event comprised an evening of fine food, wine and insights from a leading keynote speaker.

More than 50 colleagues attended the evening and were joined by guests from local organisations such as Bracknell and Wokingham College, Garth Hill School and Bracknell Athletics Club.

Journalist, author, broadcaster and ex-international table tennis champion, Matthew Syed, took to the stage to deliver an inspiring lecture on ‘The Growth Mindset’, which explored the importance of learning from mistakes and having a positive attitude towards failure in the route to success.

Attendees went home with a copy of Matthew’s latest book ‘Black Box Thinking: The Surprising Truth About Success’ to read up further on his thought-provoking ideas.

The third annual Redwood Lecture took place on Wednesday 22nd March 2017 and saw Digby Jones, Lord Jones of Birmingham deliver a keynote speech about socially-responsible business.
