Senior Software Engineer
You will be trained to become familiar in a wide range of telecoms and IT disciplines such as telecoms protocols (e.g. E1/T1/SS7), VoIP and IP protocols (e.g. SIP, H.323, IMS), database engines (e.g. Microsoft SQL server) etc.
Responsibilities
- Providing technical support to customers when required.
- Providing technical input during the tendering phase of projects when required. This may include man-day estimates of the work entailed.
- Assisting in the preparation of Specification documents against customer’s Statements of Requirement.
- Designing and developing software using applicable methods and standards suitable for the task, in order to meet in-house and/or customer requirements.
- Producing test schedules, and conduct in-house and external testing in accordance with documented Specifications.
- Holding status and technical review meetings with customers, both as documented in any relevant Specification and on an ad-hoc basis when necessary.
- Managing the day-to-day activities of software projects and track progress, bringing matters to the attention of the Project Manager when necessary.
- Performing on-site installations of Redwood hardware and software systems when required.
- Providing expert support on the company’s products within the Engineer’s experience.
- To maintain an awareness of the Company’s policies, practices and standards as documented in the Quality System, and to conduct work in accordance with these policies, practices and standards.
Basic Requirements
- 2-3 years programming experience.
- Have strong educational background with a 2.1 and above in Engineering/maths/science or computer science, and a BBB and above at A-levels
- Specific skills preference some of: C, C++, php, sql, asp, vb.net, java
- Have a full UK driving license.
- Be hard working and ambitious
- Enjoy travel

Additional Notes
Applicants should be willing to relocate to a reasonable distance from the office.
