On Friday the 12th of December, Redwood Technologies continued its ongoing commitment to the community local to its UK headquarters through a donation to Involve, a Bracknell-based support organisation. The donation, made from Redwood’s grassroots fund with Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF), went towards Involve’s Befriending and Community Choices Christmas Party.

The event, hosted annually, brought together fifty-two members of Involve’s Befriending scheme. The programme seeks to address the problem of social isolation in the Bracknell area by pairing residents with volunteer-befrienders. Through this scheme, Involve provides vital support to those who have become isolated due to illness, bereavement and other circumstances which make it difficult to develop friendships.

Redwood’s donation supported the logistics for the event, as well as entertainment in the form of a well-received magician, and represents the latest in a series of donations made from the Berkshire Community Foundation grassroots fund. BCF funds support a wide range of charities which carry out vital work throughout the region, with the Foundation acting as a conduit for both businesses and individuals to deliver effective, targeted donations to local causes.

Sean Taylor, Managing Director of Redwood Technologies, commented: "We’re delighted that our donation has been able to help support such a worthwhile event, bringing together some of society’s more isolated people under the spirit of the season. Through Berkshire Community Foundation and its Business Philanthropy Club, we’re seeing more and more local organisations make the most of match-funding and specialised knowledge of local charities, helping their money go further and helping organisations like Involve to make a real difference to those in need."
